Nissan Australia has announced availability of its new GT-R Black Edition special, bringing a handful of styling, handling and weight-saving features to the party.
On sale from June, the Black Edition adds an exposed carbon-fibre spoiler, along with 20-inch forged alloy RAYS wheels, reducing the big coupe's unsprung weight.
Those big six-spoke alloys also feature knurled beads, designed to keep the tyre from shifting on the rim under hard acceleration.
Despite its name, the Black Edition is also treated to a run of red highlights in the cabin, including accented seat, dash and door elements.
The GT-R was last updated late in 2012, with the 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged V6 gaining new injectors, changes to the turbochargers’ bypass valves, and a new baffle added to the sump.
Maximum power and torque in the current GT-R remain unchanged at 404kW/628Nm, but Nissan promises improvements to mid-upper rev-range engine response and reduced rotational mass.
