Jaguar has revealed its all-new Formula E race car in its war paint ahead of the all-electric racing series’ kick-off next month.

Big news for this part of the world is that Kiwi Mitch Evans, whose previous race experience includes Le Mans, karting, and open-wheel GP2 and GP3, will be part of the driver lineup alongside Northern Ireland’s Adam Carroll who has carried out the bulk of the new team's Formula E testing.

Jaguar joins a stellar lineup of manufacturers fielding works teams in the zero emissions racing series - gridding-up alongside Audi, Renault, DS Automobiles, and Mahindra.

Jaguar’s Formula E racer is the I-Type 1 - the historic first all-electric Jaguar racing car - which has already completed 21 days of solid race circuit testing.

The British brand says its participation in the third Formula E Championship forms part of a vital partnership with Japanese electronics giant, Panasonic.

Jaguar will use the all-electric race program to test advanced technologies already earmarked for future road car development.

In a statement Gerd Mäuser, Chairman of Panasonic Jaguar Racing, said: “Today marks a new chapter in the history of Jaguar Racing. As the first premium car manufacturer in Formula E we are proud to be back in top-level motorsport. The future is changing and we’re part of that change."
