Volvo's next-generation XC90 SUV could debut at November's Los Angeles Auto Show, according to new reports out of the US this week.

Speaking with American paper Car & Driver, Volvo Cars North America boss Tony Nicolosi said: "We will probably bring it to the L.A. auto show, but the actual U.S. sales start for the XC90 late March 2015.”

Teased in three-door 'XC Coupe' concept form earlier this month, the big new SUV was expected to hit showrooms in 2014, although a 2015 debut now appears certain.

We can likely expect much of the XC Coupe's styling to carry over to the production XC90, although at least one obvious change will occur.

“It goes without saying that a three-row, seven-seater will have a larger and fuller look than this four-seater. Volvo Concept XC is more of a Cross Country version of a sleek sports wagon," Volvo design boss Thomas Ingenlath said earlier this month.
