2015 VW TIGUAN DUE THIS YEAR

Volkswagen’s next-generation Tiguan could debut sooner than expected, if reports out of Germany are to be believed.

According to German website Auto Motor und Sport, the new midsized SUV will debut before the year is out, possibly at October’s Paris Motor Show.

This follows an announcement from Volkswagen in March that the new Tiguan would appear in time for the 2016 model year, likely late next year.

If Volkswagen has brought the new Tiguan’s debut forward, it will mean an earlier and timely retirement for the current generation that first appeared in 2007. (A significant updated appeared in 2011.)

A Paris debut would make the new Tiguan the third VW Group model planned for the event, joining the new Skoda Fabia and the new Passat sedan.

The new Tiguan (speculatively rendered in this article by independent designer Theophilus Chin) is expected to take its styling cues from the recent T-Roc concept, revealed at March’s Geneva Motor Show.
