2015 SUZUKI GRAND VITARA
A heavily camouflaged new SUV, believed to be a replacement for the current Suzuki Grand Vitara, has been spied testing in Europe this week.
A successor to the nine year-old Grand Vitara midsizer is known to be on the cards for 2015, and these new shots are likely to be our first look at the new model.
This test car’s camouflage obscures most of the finer details, but we can likely expect to see styling cues from the more compact iv-4 that is expected to hit Australia early next year.
Among those features will be slender near headlights, a more stylised and chrome-rich grille design and bold sloping D-pillars.
A strong character line should also feature, running through the profile and over the rear wheel arch.
Technical details for the new model remain unknown for now, although some reports have suggested the Grand Vitara will move to a car-like monocoque platform for this new generation.
We can likely expect the new Grand Vitara to surface later this year, with a global sales launch to begin probably early in 2015.
However, with the iV-4 already slated for launch early next year, we may not see the new Grand Vitara until the second quarter - or later - in 2015.
