A long overdue replacement for Renault’s midsized Latitude has been spied testing in Europe this week.
The new model will likely see the Laguna name return to Australia - although the badge never left the European market, where the nine year-old third-gen model continues to be sold even today.
These new photos of Renault’s coming midsizer suggest we can expect a more muscular look for its new-generation family car, which will also join models like the new Mazda6 in wearing a long coupe-inspired roofline.
Little of the new model’s finer details can be seen with this heavily camouflaged prototype, although it is clear we can expect to see Renault’s new corporate styling dominate the front end.
New models like the Clio, Captur and the recently unveiled Kadjar hint at what we’ll see, although the test car shown here wears an even broader version of the family grille, and larger headlights to complement its overall proportions.
A rendering produced last week by independent artist Theophilus Chin (below) offers a possible view of how the new Laguna might look.
Stay tuned to TMR for both.
