Nissan’s new Note light hatch has been revealed in production form this week in Japan.

Previewed with the Invitation concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the production Note stays true to the concept’s styling in most respects.

Intended for sale across several world markets, the Note shares similar dimensions with the overseas Renault Modus, Opel Meriva and Citroen C3 Picasso.

In Japanese-spec, the Note will use naturally aspirated and supercharged versions of the 1.2 litre petrol three-cylinder engine used in the Micra, with a new-generation XTRONIC CVT as the sole transmission choice.

Nissan is yet to release specific output details, but claims the supercharged version consumes just 4.0 l/100km on the Japanese JC08 cycle.
