A replacement for the current Dualis compact SUV will reportedly appear in November, debuting a new modular platform it will share with Nissan and Renault models.
Both the Dualis and the X-Trail are expected to draw styling cues from last year's Hi-Cross concept, although it is unclear if the show car represents a direct preview of either model.
The new platform is also understood to have been developed to accommodate a plug-in hybrid system, with the new Dualis set to offer such an option in 2015.
International engine options for the new Dualis will reportedly include a supercharged 85kW 1.2 litre petrol engine to replace the naturally-aspirated 1.6 engine. A 1.6 diesel is also expected.
Production of the Dualis will remain in the UK, and reports suggest the new model will hit the assembly line in December.
The Dualis remains a strong seller in Australia, totalling 1319 sales in March - up from 854 for the same period in 2012.
