New Mercedes-Benz GLC Previewed

Mercedes-Benz has released a preview sketch of its coming new GLC SUV, destined to be unveiled at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The GLC is a significant model for Mercedes. As a replacement for the GLK, this new model will be the company’s first global offering in the midsized SUV market.

That means that, at long last, Mercedes-Benz Australia will have a proper rival to the popular Audi Q5 (1735 sales year-to-date), BMW X3 (1104) and Range Rover Evoque (1092).

Those three have been a dominant force in their segment, accounting for 76.8 percent of all midsized premium SUV sales (following are the Macan (750), XC60 (580), X4 (328), Freelander (311) and Discovery Sport (145)).
