Maserati’s long-servicing GranTurismo will finally welcome its replacement in 2017, a new report with the UK’s Auto Express suggests.

Appearing 10 years on from the launch of the current model, the new GranTurismo will reportedly be smaller than the big tourer we know now.

And, while the current GranTurismo sits next to a convertible ‘GranCabrio’ mate, the new model is expected to be offered exclusively as a coupe.

This is all according to a recent interview with Maserati North Europe boss Peter Denton, who told Auto Express the impact of the GranCabrio’s role will be “filled by the Alfieri Spider, due in early 2017”.
