As part of Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s (FCA) five-year plan, both the Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass models in Australia will be replaced by a single model.

FCA has been largely quiet on the replacement since making the announcement, preferring instead to concentrate on its new compact model in the Jeep Renegade SUV.

But now, reports out of the UK suggest fans will get their first look at the replacement for the Patriot and the Compass at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Auto Express reports Jeep bosses have confirmed the covers will come off the new midsized model in Geneva, and that ‘Compass’ will be the likely name.

While the Compass badge has been selling in the Australian market for some time (pictured, top of page), a new Compass model will mark the return of the badge for some overseas markets.

That means for Australian customers at least, the days are numbered for Jeep’s current entry-level model - the Patriot.
