New Honda Accord Revealed, On Sale In Australia From Mid 2013

Honda has released first photos and details of the new 2013 Accord Sedan and Coupe, ahead of the sedan's 2013 Australian debut.

Previewed in Coupe concept form earlier this year, the new Accord appears virtually unchanged from the concept, but for the usual showcar enhancements making way for production-friendly components.

There are also echoes of the outgoing model in the lines of the new car, with many of the styling cues from the eighth-generation family car (and sporty coupe) morphing into the new shell.

"This car is the most sculpted and the most dynamic Accord yet,"  Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda said.

"Following Honda's long-held philosophy of 'man maximum, machine minimum,' the beautiful exterior evolved from a focus on interior space and the needs of the people inside it."

There's more than a hint of European inspiration in the character line running from the front wheelarches to the rear lights, but the face is pure Honda, highlighted by slim Accord Euro-like headlights.

The Coupe is almost unchanged from its Detroit showing, with just some minor tweaks in its journey to production-readiness.
