The Geneva Motor Show unveiling of Honda’s new Civic Type R is drawing nearer.
Honda has already released a trio of up-close teaser images for its new hot hatch, revealing a few key front-end details.
Now, a Japanese blogger has got his hands on another shot of the new hero, revealing a first look at the production model’s backside.
As earlier spy photos of Honda’s camouflaged prototypes had hinted, the new Civic Type R will not boast the bulbous sheetmetal changes that featured with last year’s rocketship Type R concept.
Honda’s own teaser photos last month had revealed that much of the Type R’s unique styling will come through add-on components, including flared guards and an enhanced version of the Civic Sport’s body-kit.
This new photo also offers a first unobscured look at the new Type R’s ‘bolt-on’ rear flares, along with its large diffuser and four exhaust tips.
The new Type R’s tail-lights and wing remain hidden, although it is likely that we can expect an attached spoiler and lightly updated tail lamps, rather than the futuristic integrated design worn by the earlier concept.
