UPDATE, March 2: A new low-quality official image of the Type R has leaked today. See below.
Up front, we see the same new headlights and sharpened bumper that were revealed with last year’s Civic Sport model, along with additional aero work attached to the bottom.
It’s a similar story at the rear, with yesterday’s leaked photo topped by the Civic Sport’s newly updated LED tail lamps and a tall hatch-mounted wing.
A large rear diffuser is flanked by a big set of exhaust tips, rounding out the rear treatment.
The famous red ‘H’ badge stars at both ends, along with the legendary Type R logo.
These shots also offer a first look at the new Civic Type R’s interior, revealing heavily bolstered sports seats, a sports steering wheel and manual shifter, along with updated styling and red contrast trim.
The new Civic Type R will make its official debut in Geneva this week, although an Australian debut is not expected to occur until sometime in 2017.
