A video that surfaced online yesterday morning - before quickly vanishing - revealed a brief glimpse of what appeared to be an all-new Citroen destined for Europe and global markets.

Now, new details have come to TMR that suggest the car is not a "new" model, but rather a sedan version of the new C4.

An alert reader close to Citroen in Europe has thrown doubt on our earlier report, which suggested the new car could sit - both in price and in dimensions - below the C5. Thrown doubt? Thrown the story out the window.

Seems that what we are actually looking at is a sedan version of the new C4, designed for Chinese and Latin American markets. There's a longish wheelbase behind the B-pillar - typical of vehicles built for China, which demands a bigger rear seat.

It also seems that, as in this case, some of the European car magazines - the source of these images - think that everything designed in Europe is for sale in Europe. Not so, it would appear.
