If this purportedly leaked photo doesn’t turn out to be a well-crafted amateur rendering, we might now be looking at the all-new Audi R8 supercar.
Authentic or not, there’s little doubt at this stage that what we’re seeing here is just about ‘spot on’, neatly matching all of the teasers and spy photos that have surfaced online in recent months.
As expected, the new R8 evolves the overall look of the previous model, with the standout changes focused on the front- and rear styling.
In this shot, as with earlier images, we see that the new R8 shares a few key styling traits with the new TT coupe, including the sharpened headlights and broad new grille design.
The previous model’s ‘blade’, which once extended from roof to sill, is now also gone from the R8’s profile, replaced with a smaller panel over the familiar deep intake.
As for the technical details, it’s known that the new R8 will be powered by the same upgraded 5.2 litre V10 that drives the Lamborghini Huracan, with both cars producing 448kW and 560Nm.
