Nissan continues the tweaks to its Navara line-up this week, following the announcement of new features and pricing earlier this month.
Joining the new V6-powered ST-X Dual Cab 4x4, the Navara line-up now also features a new ST 4x2 Dual Cab diesel variant.
The new Spanish-built model joins the existing RX 4x2 Dual Cab and the entry-level DX 4x2 Cab Chassis Navaras.
Power for the ST 4x2 Dual Cab is delivered by Nissan's 2.5 litre diesel engine, producing 120kW and 403Nm of torque - 14kW and 47Nm more guts than the RX 4x2.
With the manual transmission (a five-speed auto is also available), the new variant's fuel consumption is listed at 8.3 l/100km, bettering the 9.1 l/100km of the manual-equipped RX 4x2.
Standard features for the ST include rear child restraint anchorages, front, side and curtain airbags, dual-zone climate control, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and side steps.
The Navara 2WD ST is priced at $36,100 with the manual transmission, and the automatic transmission option adds $2,250. Both prices exclude on-road costs.
2012 Y61 Nissan Patrol Udate
Nissan's workhorse Y61 Patrol has been given new standard features and a safety upgrade for 2012, while the price of the entry-level DX has been reduced by $700.
All 2012 model-year Patrol wagons get an updated Vehicle Dynamic Control system, which can now be deactivated by a switch in the console.
A switchable rear differential lock has also been added to the standard features list.
Lastly, the up-spec ST and Ti variants get a rear glass antenna, replacing the power antenna, hrome highlights have been added to the dashboard dials, and an engine intercooler cover is now fitted to the ST and Ti grades.
Nissan has also again confirmed it will continue to offer the hard-going Y61 Patrol beyond the introduction of the big new Y62 Patrol later this year.
