Morgan has undated its Aero 8 model for 2015, unveiling the fifth generation of the model that appeared in 2000.

Teased as a “new supercar”, the covers came off the new Aero 8 at the Geneva Motor Show, revealing new styling inside and out which hides a list of additional non-visual improvements.

Morgan says the revised styling is influenced by drop-top cars from the 1960s, “reflecting a trend of long, fast and low shoulder lines and cabin focused body work”.

The carmaker also says the new Aero 8 will remind people of a boat deck when viewed from above.

A new ‘clam shell’ boot lid is fitted for the fifth generation, which Morgan says both tensions and hides the new soft-top roof. The boot lid opens ‘backwards’, front-to-rear.
