The Super Series MSO Defined range of aftermarket accessories for McLaren supercars has been expanded for 2017.
McLaren says the new accessories - which make extensive use of carbon-fibre - not only look good, they also save weight.
For example there are carbon fibre louvered front fenders, below (inspired by historic McLaren Can-Am racers like the M8D) which match with vented wheel-arch liners. Removing turbulent air from the front wheel arches improves tyre grip.
There’s also a carbon-fibre bonnet (in visual carbon fibre like the limited-edition 650S Can-Am variant).
How about exterior mirror arms in carbon-fibre, which can be matched to the mirror casings.
For the interior there are air vent bezels in carbon fibre and carbon-fibre door sill tops (providing handy protection for the MonoCell passenger compartment).
Also available in carbon-fibre are steering wheels (trimmed in leather or Alcantara) and extended gear-shift paddles.
McLaren plans to grow the MSO Defined portfolio to cater to the growing demand for aftermarket personalisation of its supercars.
