Mitsubishi has expanded its Triton ute range with the addition of the special-edition GLX+, which adds more equipment for the same $36,990 sticker price as the Triton GLX it's based upon.
Spec-wise it sits between the existing Triton GLX and mid-spec Triton GLS, with 16-inch alloys, a reversing camera, rear step bumper and a display audio headunit with 6.1-inch colour touchscreen being added over the base GLX specification.
A blacked-out grille adds some further differentiation between the GLX+ and the base grade GLX.
That's in addition to the air conditioning, tilt and telescopic steering column, cruise control, side steps, Bluetooth phone/audio integration and seven airbags that's already standard equipment on the GLX.
Powered by a 2.4 litre turbo diesel inline four with 133kW and 430Nm, the Triton GLX+ is available purely as a 4x4 double-cab model but comes with the option of a six speed manual or six-speed automatic, the latter carrying a $2500 premium over the manual.
Mitsubishi says the Triton GLX+ is a "limited edition", however there's no word of precisely how many will be released. However, if you're keen on scoring a basic 4x4 Triton with a little more fruit than the entry-level GLX for the same amount of money, head to your local Mitsubishi dealer soon.
