While it's certain that the Mitsubishi Lancer will eventually die, one day, the current model has more lives than Lazarus. It's now about to soldier on into its tenth year in the local market.

But 2016 won’t be without change for the ageing small car, as Mitsubishi has thrown everything at it to ensure it stays relevant to buyers.

The big news for the 2016 Lancer is a standard DAB+ digital radio for the infotainment system while outside, there's a new front bumper and a new grille, standard fog lamps and LED daytime running lights along with new body-skirts.

Besides the DAB+ radio, the interior features a colour touchscreen, six speakers and reversing camera, while the interior for the base model ES Sport also scores a new-look console, improved seat fabrics, gloss black interior highlights, leather shift knob with boot on manual models and a high-contrast instrument cluster.
