Mitsubishi has confirmed that visitors to this week's Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) will get the chance to take its new i-MiEV electric vehicle for a test drive.
The news follows the announcement earlier this month of the i-MiEV's wider public availability from early in 2012 - right in time to tackle Nissan's upcoming Leaf EV.
To book a test drive, visitors can head to the Mitsubishi stand where they can pick up a drive token. Take that to the Test Drive Experience booth in the foyer, and a 20-minute spin in the electrified Mitsubishi awaits.
Pricing for the updated-for-2012 i-MiEV will be revealed closer to its early 2012 launch, but give the Mitsubishi reps a nudge at AIMS and you just might get a hint of how much you'll need to put aside.
The Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) opens at 6pm on Friday 1 July and runs through until Sunday 10 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Other new models and concepts confirmed for the 2011 AIMS include the 2012 Subaru Impreza, Toyota Prius V and Prius C, the Suzuki Swift S-Concept, the Peugeot 508, the Range Rover Evoque, the Toyota FT-86 II Concept, the 2012 Audi A6 and the 2012 Jaguar XF.
Appearances have also been confirmed for the all-new Lamborghini Aventador, the Lexus LF-Gh concept, the Mazda Shinari concept, and a preview of Australian carmaker JOSS Developments' upcoming JT1 supercar.
