Mitsubishi Challenger Teased Ahead Of August Unveiling

Mitsubishi’s third-generation Challenger off-roader has been teased ahead of its official unveiling next month.

A global debut is scheduled to take place in Thailand, where the covers will come off the new model revealing what Mitsubishi calls its “Dynamic Shield frontal design”.

From this, and spy photos captured earlier this year of the new model undergoing testing, fans can expect a redesign closely aligned to that of the smaller Outlander SUV.

The spy photos also hinted at a more muscular stance for the new Challenger, along with integrated side-steps and short front overhang to improve its off-road capabilities.

This means the Challenger could stray away from the looks of the Triton ute, with which it shares most of its underpinnings and engines.

An all-new Triton arrived in Australia in April, and this teaser image suggests the Challenger may at least have similar headlights to the Triton with the same daytime running lights.
