MINI's Clubman wagon has switched out an M for a V, back seats for a cargo bay, and its rear quarter windows for signage space.

Yes, the Mini Van is back, and it's called the Clubvan. The concept is described as a compact lifestyle van for business or leisure, and we'd expect nothing less from the doyen of (BMW-owned) British style.

The Clubvan keeps its five-door layout, with the traditional barn doors at the rear opening onto a ruggedised cargo space, separated from the driver and passenger seat by a mesh partition.

While the regular Clubman can fold its rear seats flat for expanded carrying capacity, the Clubvan boasts a proper flat floor, delivering greater vertical space.

There's little else to talk about here: it's a light city van, you get the picture.

In production form (MINI says it will gauge market interest at next month's Geneva Motor Show), the Clubvan would face off against the likes of the Fiat Doblo, the Ford Transit Connect, and Mercedes-Benz' upcoming Citan van.

The Clubvan is just one of three new models the brand is considering, with a new trio of MINI-badged cars planned to launch by 2020.

A new dedicated wagon and even a sedan are among the ideas reportedly under consideration.

Watch for more details on the Clubvan at Geneva next month.
