Mercedes-Benz has pulled the covers back to reveal its top-shelf Mercedes-Maybach S 600 at the 2015 Motorclassica event in Melbourne, the Australian debut for the uber-luxury sedan.

Announced in May, the Maybach model will sit at the top of Mercedes’ flagship S-Class range in Australia. Designed to take on the likes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley, it comes with the 'full house' of luxury appointments.

As such, the German carmaker certainly isn’t giving its prized model away; prices start at $448,610 plus on-road costs.

The new Maybach however is a relative bargain compared to the $900,000 price of the previous model wearing the same name some years back.

Mercedes says the Maybach “makes automotive luxury come alive by perfecting design and technology down to the last detail”.
