Despite the compact design, the concept still contains most of the creature comforts that you would expect in a camper van.
Mechanically, there is a 3.0 litre V6 turbo-diesel making 142kW and matched to a six-speed manual transmission.
Inside, the van’s front seats swivel around to become lounge chairs while a bench seat in the living area slides out to provide a double bed.
There’s also a flat screen television, kitchen and bathroom, complete with integrated wardrobe.
A highlight is the study area, which features a hard-wearing HPL coating in gloss-white along with a grey laminate floor.
The whole lot is finished in Mercedes-Benz white leather with LED lighting, while the outside is finished in a new grey metallic paint.
No word yet from the three-pointed star as to whether the Sprinter Camper Van Concept will make it into production.
Mercedes-Benz is also expected to have its ‘regular’ fleet of larger camper vans on display at the Caravan Salon, which runs until September 8.
