Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that its AMG performance arm will unveil an all-new sports car later this year - and there's no prize for guessing which one.
The carmaker has offered few details, other than to confirm that AMG will "enter a new segment with a sports car it has full developed itself".
With only that hint to go on, it appears likely that we can expect to see AMG's recently spied coupe - codenamed C190 and known alternately as the SLC and the AMG GT - before the year is out.
Specifications for the new model remain a mystery, although it is clear from TMR's spy photos that the C190 will adopt a more traditional coupe profile, with a long bonnet and a sweeping roofline.
The entry SLC model will reportedly offer around 360kW, with a mid-range variant producing around 410kW. A 435kW model would sit atop the range, essentially as a successor to the current 435kW SLS AMG GT.
Expect Merc's new 5.5 litre bi-turbo engine to power the top models, replacing the older 6.2 litre engine.
Watch for more details to come toward the middle or end of 2014.
