Set to make its world debut at next month's New York Auto Show, it won't be long until we finally get to see McLaren's new Sports Series sans camouflage.

We've had plenty of glimpses of it in the lead-up to its unveiling though, both officially and thanks to our eagle-eyed spy photographers.

This latest series of spy images doesn't show anything new, but it does depict a Sports Series prototype being tested alongside a McLaren 675LT and Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Why? We're not sure, given both the 675LT and F12 are a few rungs above the "entry level" Sports Series range.

But though it will be the most affordable McLaren available (some reports claim a pricetag of £140,000, or AU$269,300), it won't be a weakling. Not by a long shot.
