With the 2014 Le Mans 24-Hour now run and won (by Audi), McLaren has honoured its F1 GTR model that won the event 20 years ago with its new track-focused weapon.
The newly-named McLaren P1 GTR will resurrect the GTR name for the British carmaker, due to begin production when the 375th and last P1 road car has been built.
McLaren says the P1 GTR will be “the most powerful McLaren to date”, adding the rather bold prediction that its creation will also be “the best driver’s car in the world, on track”.
