The convertible or "Spider" version of McLaren's MP4-12C supercar is on the way, and these new spy photos reveal the car testing in Southern Europe this week.
There's little to see at this point, although it is clear that the droptop MP4-12C will feature a one-piece hardtop retractable roof - similar, we suspect, to Ferrari's new 458 Spider.
Expect the convertible MP4-12C to draw power from the same 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8, producing 441kW at 7000rpm and 600Nm of torque at 3000rpm.
The hardtop hits 100km/h in "just over" three seconds, and the Spider should come within a couple hundredths of that time - if not match it.
