UPDATE: The 570S Has now been revealed. Details here.

McLaren’s 570S, the first of its new 911-battling ‘Sports Series’ models, has surfaced today ahead of a planned New York Auto Show debut.

These new photos, obtained by enthusiast site Car Scoops, offer a first look at the new 419kW (570PS) supercoupe.

As spy photos and recent teasers have shown, the new McLaren takes its styling cues from the brand’s P1 hero.

McLaren’s logo-inspired headlights feature at the front above an almost smile-like bumper and aero arrangement, while a similar theme plays out at the rear with slender hooked LED tail lamps and a broad curving diffuser.

Full mechanical details are still to come, although it is understood that the 570S is built around the same carbon-fibre monocoque that hides beneath the skin of the more powerful 650S and 675LT ‘Super Series’ models.

The 570S coupe’s 419kW of power likewise comes from the same 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers 478kW in the 650S and 496kW in the 675LT.

Watch for more details to come as the New York Auto Show takes off in the hours ahead.
