McLaren is set to end production of its 12C coupe less than three years since its production debut, as the company moves its focus to meet demand for the new 650S supercar.

In essence a hugely upgraded and P1-faced version of the 12C, the $441,500 650S hit Australia last month with a mere AU$45,000 premium over the 12C - pennies to those in the McLaren market.

The end of 12C production was confirmed this week in a letter from McLaren boss Mike Flewitt to the brand’s customers.
