Mazda has issued a recall for its Mazda2 hatch, due to a potential fault with the vehicle’s fuel tank.

The recall is effective for vehciles sold between the 30th of January 2015 and the 16th of February 2016.

The recall notice describes the potential for the weld between the fuel tank and the rollover valve to peel off in some cases, causing a fuel leak.

Leaking fuel may pose a risk to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

Mazda will contact affected owners by mail to have the fuel tanks replaced as soon as parts become available. Owners wishing to find out more are urged to contact Mazda’s customer support line on 1800 034 411.
