Mazda Australia has confirmed the addition of USB connectivity across the Mazda2 line-up this week, enhancing the light car's entertainment package.

The new feature gives owners the ability to connect and control music on their iPod, iPhone or iPad. It also allows them to navigate through audio files on a USB memory stick.

As with most packages of its sort, the system can be controlled both from both the in-dash audio system and steering-mounted audio controls.

The Mazda2 also gets another tweak that only the eagle-eyed will spot: a black centre cap in the allow wheels of the Maxx and Genki models, replacing the usual silver cap. The Mazda2 picks up this little touch after it debuted on the CX-5 this year.

A new no-cost exterior colour has also been added, with Stormy Blue Mica replacing the Burgundy Red Mica option.

The Mazda2 range remains otherwise unchanged. The 2012/13 Mazda2 line-up continues to utilise the current 76kW 1.5 litre petrol engine, with fuel consumption listed at 6.4 l/100km.
