Maserati GranCabrio MC Coming To Paris

Maserati has revealed the GranCabrio MC hi-po convertible ahead of a public showing at this weekend’s Paris Motor Show.

This seventh iteration of the GranTurismo line-up inherits most of the performance goodies from its hardtop MC Stradale brethren, but uses a conventional six-speed ZF auto instead of the hardtop’s robotised manual transmission.

The hardtop MC’s 338kW 4.7 litre V8 remains though, along with its carbon fibre-highlighted aero package and unique 20-inch wheel design.

Much of the two-seat hardtop MC’s weight-saving measures are nullified by the GranCabrio’s folding soft top, so Maserati has elected to retain a four-seat layout for the convertible MC.

Maserati is yet to announce pricing, but the GranCabrio MC is expected to carry a premium over the hardtop’s AU$364,900 figure.

Australian availability is unclear at this stage, but the GranCabrio is expected to hit European showrooms early next year.

Upcoming Models

Maserati is on a mission to expand its annual sales volume from 7000 to 50,000 units, and the now seven-strong GranTurismo/Cabrio model line-up will be aided by the new Quattroporte sedan early next year,

Also coming is the Kubang SUV, with the “GranSport” 911-rival and rumoured “Levante” sub-Quattroporte sedan awaiting confirmation.
