Magna Steyr, the Austria-based automobile manufacturer, engineering outfit and would-be stylehouse, has produced more than a few concepts of its own in recent years.
Developed under the Mila badge, the jack-of-all-trades company has produced concepts that include a one-seater sports car back in 2005, through to 2009's Mila EV and last year's Mila Aerolight.
The Canadian-owned manufacturer is back on the job this year, with its fastback three-door Mila Coupic destined for next week's Geneva Motor Show.
Described as a "dynamic transforming coupe," the Coupic can function as a five-seater SUV, an open-backed pickup or an open-topped convertible.
The Coupic has a 500C-like roof that can be drawn back automatically for an open-top feel, while the rear seats can fold up and forward to reveal a hard-wearing pickup tub in the rear.
We're not expecting the Mila Coupic to enter production, but with Magna Steyr responsible for numerous technologies used by big-name carmakers - including Mercedes-Benz's 4Matic system - we could see elements of its design utilised by other brands.
