LEXUS LF-LC: SYDNEY MOTOR SHOW 2012

Lexus has revealed an updated version of its LF-LC hybrid sports car concept at today’s Australian International Motor Show.

Following the LF-LC’s initial debut at the Detroit show in January, this updated version sheds the previous red paintwork for a new ‘Opal Blue’ hue.

The concept’s interior has also been revised, with the previous brown door and console leather replaced with a bone-coloured tone to match the seats.

Building on Lexus’ existing production hybrid range, the LF-LC’s Lexus Hybrid Drive Atkinson cycle petrol/electric drivetrain is the Japanese manufacturer’s most powerful to date, producing a total of 372kW.

The concept uses lightweight carbon fibre and aluminium construction similar to the production LFA supercar to deliver further efficiency gains, along with dynamic ability.

"LF-LC is part concept, part reality: the concept hints at what's to come from Lexus, while the reality has us actively studying how we can engineer and build a vehicle like this in the future", Lexus Australia’s Tony Cramb said.
