While the Phantom name dates back to 1925, this generation – unveiled on 3 January 2003 – was created from scratch in just five years by a team of engineers and designers working in secret from a disused bank building in central London and heralded the British marque’s return to glory under the ownership of BMW.

The final example of the Rolls-Royce Phantom VII has a maritime theme reflecting a 1930 ocean liner.
Exterior paintwork is in Blue Velvet complete with a twin coachline and ocean liner motifs on the shoulder.
Some of the interior detail includes Powder Blue leather with tone-on-tone embroidery, lambswool carpets with a hand-cut wake effect, and front and rear clocks in the style of radio clocks from time-honoured luxury liners with 24 time zone bezels which can be rotated to suit varying international time zones.
The all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII, debuting a new aluminium chassis architecture, and the brand's first SUV being developed under the Project Cullinan working title, will debut later this year.
