All XXVs will feature distinctive badging, black grille surrounds, silver full-length roof rails, body-coloured handles and newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels in a light polished-silver finish.
Customers can choose from Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and Indus Silver (to mark the 25th anniversary) paint finishes.
Inside, the XXV gets premium Windsor leather in a choice of three colours, twist pile carpet mats, ‘XXV’ embossing and a leather-wrapped wooden steering wheel.
Automatic High Beam Assist, adaptive xenon headlamps, signature daytime running lamps and keyless entry are all standard.
“Since its inception, the Land Rover Discovery has been pivotal to the success of the brand and has now become an iconic design in its own right,” Group Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover, Phil Popham, said.
“The Discovery XXV Special Edition is the ultimate in sophisticated versatility and a fitting tribute to the legendary status of this iconic Land Rover.”
The Discovery first arrived in Land Rover showrooms in 1989, with more than one million finding homes since then.
The 25th anniversary is good timing for Land Rover locally too, with an updated-for-2014 model expected to go on-sale in Australia from next month.
The 2014 Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition is due to arrive in local showrooms from Q3 this year, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
