Lamborghini and BMW have both teased future GT3 racers this week, ahead of respective racing debuts in 2015 and 2016.
For Italy, Lamborghini’s new Huracan model gets the GT3 treatment as a replacement for the Gallardo GT3; which has seen service at race tracks around the world for several years.
The Huracan GT3 comes less than two months after the Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo was unveiled, with assistance from Italian racing outfit Dallara.
Dallara also had a hand in developing the GT3, along with Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing division.
The scene for the GT3’s first shakedown test was Italy’s Vallelunga circuit, with drivers Adrian Zaugg and Fabio Babini on hand to evaluate the new project for Lamborghini (see video, top of page).
Little else is known about the Huracan GT3 at this stage, so for now, we await its racing debut.
