Koenigsegg To Unveil New Regera ‘Megacar’ At Geneva

Koenigsegg has teased a new model ahead of an official unveiling at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, referring to its new creation as a “megacar”.

Called the Regera, the new model promises to be one of Koenigsegg’s best efforts to date, as this particular carmaker is unlikely to throw the term ‘megacar’ around to describe one of its tamer offerings.

But can the Regera match or even better the already-insane Koenigsegg One:1 (pictured, top of page)?

The One:1 gets its name from a one-to-one ratio for metric horsepower and weight, with figures of 1340PS (987kW) and 1340kg respectively.

Not only can the One:1 accelerate from 0-100km/h in around 3.0 seconds, Koenigsegg says it will hit 400km/h in just 20 seconds on its way to a top speed north of 420km/h.
