In late March, Suzuki announced plans for two Kizashi-based unveilings at the New York Auto Show later this month - news which led to speculation of a range-topping turbocharged Kizashi.
Hopes for a force-fed version of the medium sedan appear to have been dashed this week however, with a new press release pointing to what could be a pair of hybrid and electrified cars.
Described only as "new advanced propulsion options," exact details for the powertrains of both cars remains a secret for now.
There are some hints as to the styling and purpose of each car however, with one described as a "socially-conscious sedan" and the other as a "wildly-schemed homage" to Suzuki's motorcycle heritage - one area of the Suzuki brand where high-performance remains a focus.
Suzuki says its theme at the New York Auto Show will be "Advanced Propulsion," with the two Kizashi concepts set to take centre stage on the company's display.
