Kia has released a new teaser illustration of the long-expected Pro_Cee'd GT hot hatch ahead of its unveiling at March's Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the three-door Pro_Cee'd revealed at September's Paris Motor Show, the souped-up GT bound for Geneva will get its own unique bodykit and an extra dose of power.

Full details are still to be confirmed, but it is known that the Pro_Cee'd GT will draw motivation from the Veloster SR Turbo's 150kW 1.6 litre engine.

Channeling power through six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, the Veloster SR makes its way to 100km/h in just over seven seconds (according to Hyundai). Expect similar results from the hotbox Kia.

Among the Pro_Cee'd GT's styling tweaks will be new bumpers and skirts, large alloy wheels and GT badging at both ends.

Expect a handful of suspension and handling tweaks to also feature.

As Kia's hottest offering yet, the GT will line up in the European market as an alternative (and likely more affordable) option to Volkswagen's Golf GTI.

Australia

With the Cee'd range not offered in Australia, we shouldn't hold our breath for this one either.

But, with a new Koup version of the coming 2013 Cerato already on the cards, it's likely we won't go without a turbo Kia flagship for long.
