For those car enthusiasts with a preference for the wild and whacky, the SEMA Show never fails to disappoint. But this one really hits the top of the meter - Kia's range of Justice League cars.
As unlikely alliances go, this is up there with today's news of Disney acquiring the Star Wars franchise. Have a good look, though, because a couple of these are surprisingly well-executed.
Kia has teamed with DC Comics - (ironically a rival to the Disney-owned Marvel Comics) to produce the Batman-themed Optima, along with the Cyborg Cerato hatch, a Green Lantern Soul and the Flash Cerato Koup.
Oh, yes, and the Aquaman Rio. (Poor thing... we like the Rio, but who likes Aquaman? - Ed.)
The fearsome five were created to support We Can Be Heroes, a DC Entertainment-backed charity raising awareness and cash to tackle hunger in the Horn of Africa.
"It was a thrill to see custom cars based upon my Justice League artwork and sketches revealed at SEMA," co-publisher of DC Entertainment, Jim Lee said.
"I have to tip my hat to the teams at West Coast Customs, RIDES and Super Street on their innovative work creating cars that represent iconic characters like Green Lantern, Cyborg, Aquaman and The Flash – all to benefit a great cause."
The SEMA Show runs until Friday in Las Vegas.
