Kia is continuing its run of animated advertising campaigns, partnering with DreamWorks for its new feature film, The Croods.
Now, a new video launched ahead of the 2013 Rondo's Australian debut - expected in late May - sees the Croods escape a hungry predator in Kia's new people-mover.
How the minivan made its way back to prehistory is unclear, of course. (We suspect time-travel is not among the Rondo's standard features... - Ed.)
The 2014 model's local launch can't come soon enough for the Korean brand: while the big Grand Carnival continues to clean up in the people-mover segment, just 44 Rondos have found homes in 2013 (February data).
Kia expects the Rondo badge's fortunes to lift in 2013.
“The all-new Rondo enhances Kia’s presence in a segment that, in Europe, is one of the most important and competitive new car categories,” Tony Barlow, Kia Motors Australia’s Chief Operating Officer said.
“For Australia, the segment is much smaller but in the stylish new Rondo we believe we have a car that will give a viable and attractive option to those who have a need for extra seating but do not wish to drive an SUV."
Australian details for the new Rondo are still to be revealed, but international options will include two petrol and two diesel, ranging in outputs from 85 to 130kW.
As for The Croods, the new Dreamworks films opens in cinemas around Australia this week.
