Kia has revealed fresh new details of its coming Detroit Auto Show unveiling, with a third new teaser image offering a birds-eye view.
Dubbed 'GT4 Stinger', Kia's new coupe will build on the company's current styling language, its design dominated by a wide-open take on the familiar 'tigernose' grille.
Kia says the Stinger is driven by a turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder, sending a sizeable 235kW toward the rear wheels through an as-yet undefined transmission.
The identity of the turbo engine has not been revealed, with even the 2.0 litre turbo mill of the current Genesis Coupe offering only 205kW.
A powered-up tune of that 'Theta' engine could be the answer, or Hyundai-Kia could be preparing to reveal a new high-performance four-cylinder engine.
With an all-new Genesis Coupe around the corner, and Kia known to be considering its own coupe on the same platform - the GT4 Stinger possibly acting as a preview - the latter seems likely.
Other details for the Stinger include a 2+2 interior layout, along with 20-inch alloy wheels and a carbon-fibre splitter in the front bumper.
Watch for the Stinger to debut in Detroit this month.
