Kia has offered its growing fanbase the clearest look yet at its future performance aspirations, unleashing a hot new coupe upon this week's Detroit Auto Show.
Revealed today in a series of leaked images, the GT4 Stinger enters as a muscular 2+2 coupe that mixes a number of retro cues in with the established Kia styling language.
Full details are still to come, although Kia has confirmed the GT4 is powered by a 234kW 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine, sending power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
The Stinger gets independent double wishbone suspension, while braking is managed by a powerful Brembo Gran Turismo system that includes two-piece cross-drilled rotors and four-piston calipers. 20-inch alloy wheels prop up each corner.
Kia has yet to confirm plans for a production debut, but if nothing else, we can likely expect much of the Stinger's technology to feature in the coming new Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
The Korean carmaker's last play in the high-performance concept game was the hot Provo hatch, revealed early in 2013.
Earlier, in 2013, Kia also revealed its big GT four-door coupe sedan, a concept that design boss Peter Schreyer has openly spoken of with hopes for a production future.
Could Kia look to the Stinger instead? We'll see...
