JOSS To Preview Supercar At 2011 Australian International Motor Show

Seven years after it wowed visitors to the Melbourne Motor Show with an early concept, JOSS Developments has announced it will show an 'evaluation' version of its upcoming JP1 supercar at July's Australian International Motor Show.

Also featured on the JOSS stand will be a wind-tunnel model of the production JP1, along with a number of the Australian-developed supercar's mechanical components.

Perhaps most exciting for followers of the protracted supercar project however is news that JOSS will also display a computer-generated preview of the JP1 production car.

"We had an amazing reception for our JT1 prototype in Melbourne several years ago, but building a car business is very involved," JOSS Developments Technical Director and founder Matt Thomas said.

"JOSS Developments has spent the last few years working on the business: building investment, working with our technical suppliers, and putting in place the right people so that when we launch JP1 the company will be geared up to deliver a great product to the market."

"JOSS is about the best of the best, and the best takes time. I think visitors to AIMS will see that for themselves," he added.

The company's technical partners include MoTec - an alliance described by JOSS as a "perfect fit" - along with transmission specialist Albins and renowned paint outfit AkzoNobel, known for its work in the F1 world.

Thomas remains tight-lipped on a date for the JP1's unveiling, or with any hints as to its final name (if it won't in fact carry the JP1 name through to production).

The Australian International Motor Show opens at 6:00pm on Friday 1 July and runs through until Sunday 10 July at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
