Jeep has unveiled no less than seven new concepts ahead of its 49th Easter Jeep Safari, designed to showcase Mopar options and Jeep Performance Parts available to enthusiasts.

The model count for the flock of concepts is as follows: one concept each based on Jeep’s Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, one for the new Renegade model and four Wrangler-based concepts.

While competition is strong among the seven concepts for the eyes of Jeep enthusiasts, the Jeep Chief concept (pictured, top of page) in its striking aqua paint finish arguably stands out above the rest.

Although based on the Jeep Wrangler, the Chief is designed as a tribute to the original, full-sized Jeep Cherokee “with a nod to the west coast (USA) surfer lifestyle”.

The Jeep Staff Car (below) also uses the Wrangler as its base, but strips-out almost all non-essential items, reflecting Jeep’s military service vehicles.

Painted in the appropriate Sandstorm, the Staff Car does away with doors, a rear windscreen and many interior comforts including headrests and lap-sash seatbelts.

Continuing with the Wrangler theme is the Wrangler Africa concept, wearing a Desert Tan paint finish and fitted with 35-inch BF Goodrich mud terrain tyres.

The Africa uses the Wrangler’s diesel engine matched with an automatic transmission, and has apertures for auxiliary fuel tanks, an underbody-mounted spare tyre and a two-inch suspension lift.

The Red Rock Responder (below) is the final Wrangler-based concept on the list, designed as the ultimate support vehicle with built-in draws full of spare parts and tools.

From the non-Wrangler list is the Overlander concept, based on Jeep’s Grand Cherokee.

The Overlander gets a roof-mounted pop-up tent, integrated front winch, tow hooks and 18-inch wheels.

The smaller Cherokee 4WD lends itself to the Canyon Trail, while the new Renegade SUV is the base for the Desert Hawk concept.

Both Canyon Trail and Desert Hawk feature a Desert Tan paint finish, Jeep body decals, a topographical bonnet decal and a 2.4 litre engine matched with Jeep’s nine-speed automatic.

The 2015 Easter Jeep Safari will be held at Moab in the US from March 28 until April 5. Check out the concepts in our gallery below.
