Jeep has pulled the wraps from six 'new' concepts destined for the Easter Jeep Safari in Utah next week, bringing new ideas to the old school.

Last week, Jeep confirmed revealed the identities (and teaser artwork) for three of the concepts: the Mighty FC concept, Jeep J-12 concept and the Jeep Wrangler Apache.

Those three are joined by the Wrangler Traildozer, a third unnamed customised Wrangler, and the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

Jeep says the Mighty FC concept is inspired by the Forward Control truck of the late 50s and early 60s, with this concept setting a Wrangler Rubicon cab over the front axles and the engine behind the cab..

Riding on meaty 40-inch tyres, the Mighty FC gets specialised Mopar portal axles that will run you US$12,500 up front and US$11,000 for the rear.

The J-12 concept is built on a Wrangler Unlimited frame that has been stretched by nearly 500mm, making plenty of room for a long tub - and for the big spare tyre to sit beneath it. In the cabin is a white and plaid bench seat, and a gear-lever-mounted compass.

Inspired by the old Gladiator pickups, Jeep's engineers have dubbed the J-12 "OMT," or Old Man's Truck.

Mopar's enhanced Traildozer and Apache versions of the Wrangler appear simple by comparison, but between them there's a 350kW 6.4 litre Hemi V8, six-speed and five-speed manual and automatic transmissions (the latter bringing a new conversion kit with it), massive tyres and lift kits, customised interiors and plenty of other modifications.

Mopar will also display a handful of options for the 2012 Wrangler, including a two-inch lift kit, winch, rock rails and off-road bumpers, and prototypes for a new locking box in the centre console and a rear secured storage space.

The final 'concept' is the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, wrapping five-spoke alloy wheels in 18-inch Goodyear off-road tyres and adding Mopar rock rails. There's also a few styling tweaks to give the big SUV a more off-road-ready look.
